With more local skincare and makeup brands popping up in the market, we now have more options than ever.

Looking for something organic or fuss-free? These seven brands all have two things in common: they’re made by Singaporeans and suitable for our humid weather.

1. Allies of Skin

With his flawless looking skin, it’s hard to imagine that Allies of Skin founder, Nicolas Travis, once struggled with terrible outbreaks and a lack of confidence as a teenager. His beauty brand was born out of the desire to empower people with fuss-free products that are concentrated, multi-tasking nutrient reservoirs.

2. Frank Skincare

Launched in April last year, Frank Skincare was developed by Cissy Chen after she felt like she was running out of choices to treat her breakout-prone and sensitive skin. Her beauty brand aims to transform one’s skin with a toxic-free skincare regime by nourishing it with natural vitamins and antioxidants.

3. Katfood

Founder Kendra Liew was inspired to start Katfood as she felt there was a lack of affordable natural skincare options in Singapore. The beauty brand firmly believes in only putting on the skin what they feel safe putting in their mouths. The products are all natural and chemical-free, with ingredients such as cocoa powder, beeswax, coconut oil and more.

4. The Skin Pharmacy

True to its name, The Skin Pharmacy is a brand created and manufactured by pharmacists who specialise in skincare. Their dedication to using natural ingredients is well reflected in the products, which do not contain parabens, alcohol, artificial colouring or artificial fragrance. In addition, they offer customisable products for all skin types.

6. Faux Fayc

Faux Fayc, pronounced ‘Fake Face’, is a home-grown beauty brand with a vision to lend confidence to women by allowing them to build an alter ego with makeup. The beauty brand pays close attention to how their products perform in our tropics. For instance, the Fauxless Mattifying Mousse Foundation is a lightweight foundation that performs well in humid weather.
