7 men arrested over samurai sword slashing in Little India

The police have arrested seven men over a slashing incident in Serangoon Road on Wednesday afternoon (25 July).

The men, aged 17-28 and of Indian descent, were arrested on Thursday in the vicinity of Corporation Road and Blk 26 Sin Ming Industrial Estate after a police manhunt.

According to media reports, the incident took place at the bus stop in front of Broadway Hotel along 202 Serangoon Road.

The suspects are said to have slashed a 27-year-old Indian man with a kitchen knife and a samurai sword before fleeing the scene in a rented car. The victim was left lying bloodied on the leftmost lane of Serangoon Road.

Passersby came to the victim’s aid before he was eventually conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital with serious injuries, including wounds on the back of his head, arms and legs.

Yahoo News Singapore understands that all the suspects and the victim are Singaporeans.
