9 foods debuting at the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar this year
Ramadan this year begins on Saturday (27 May), and the beloved bazaars that emerge as the Muslim community fasts during the holy month will be opened as well. While there will be many bazaars across the island, Geylang Serai’s Ramadan Bazaar is one of the most anticipated.
The bazaar officially opened on Thursday and welcomes visitors hungry for its variety of mouthwatering – and Instagrammable – food.
True to tradition, this year’s bazaar features plenty of new concoctions of desserts and snacks, together with familiar dishes like Ramly burgers and “goreng pisang” (banana fritters), among others.
That being said, with new vendors offering foods like rainbow ice-cream planet buns, candy-floss burritos and “chio bu” milkshakes, the bazaar this year promises to be more colourful and attractive than ever.
With more than 1,000 stalls to choose from, we’ve put together a list of some foods making their debut in 2017. Brace yourselves, as photos of these food will be dominating your social media feeds for the next month.
The bazaar is located along the stretch of road from Paya Lebar MRT station to Geylang Serai Wet Market, and will be open till 24 June 2017.
