Thursday's Bachelor in Paradise picked up with Eliza Isichei getting Charity Lawson’s take on Aaron Bryant after Kat Izzo told Eliza, 27, that Aaron had a girlfriend when he went on The Bachelorette.

Charity told Eliza, also 27, that when she got home from The Bachelorette, “my phone is like, bombarded with all these messages from his former, I guess, ex-girlfriend.”

The ex “not only messaged me a million times, she messaged my family members, she messaged my friends,” said Charity, 27. “So basically, her message to me was that like, they were dating before he left for my season, and he never really told her like, what it was upon like leaving.”

However, Charity felt like she got to know a different Aaron, 30, during her season.

“That’s not what I saw,” Charity said to Eliza, adding, “I like to say he does have good intentions.”

Charity had faith in Eliza and Aaron’s relationship.

“I think you guys could make it,” the child and family therapist said. “It’s just going to probably require some difficult conversations.”

Eliza told Charity she felt “so grateful” for their conversation.

The former Bachelorette then chatted with Aaron, who told her he’d “never been reached out to by my ex.”

“We broke up last August. I haven't talked to her since,” Aaron claimed.

He also denied having two girlfriends at the time he went on The Bachelorette.

“Reading that didn't add up to the Aaron that I knew,” Charity said.

She encouraged Aaron to commit to Eliza and “be transparent” with her. “I’m rooting for you guys if you can make it work,” Charity said to Aaron.

Then Eliza and Aaron talked.

Aaron said that, after being eliminated by Charity after their hometown date, he got his phone back and learned “my disgruntled ex, she was firing off a bunch of untrue things.” To try to get ahead of those rumors, he flew to Fiji, where Charity was in the Fantasy Suite with her remaining suitors.

“This is something I was trying to protect Charity from when I was in Fiji,” Aaron told Eliza.

Eliza said she wanted to move forward with Aaron but wanted to “take it slow.”

“If we want to do this, we have to, like, communicate and talk and be on the same page,” she said to Aaron. “I heard you out. I believe you.”

COCKTAIL PARTY AND ROSE CEREMONY

Going into the next rose ceremony, where the men had the roses, host Jesse Palmer gave the group an important update: Sam Jeffries finally pooped after leaving Paradise.

Aaron kept the good news coming by asking Eliza to be exclusive. “I’m actually falling in love with you,” Aaron said to Eliza. “That’s what I'm trying to say right now.”

Eliza responded with a hug, but told the cameras, “That’s something that I needed.”

Jess Girod and Blake Moynes decided to keep their relationship going after he went on a date with Genevie Mayo. “You’re the only person that I want here,” Blake, 32, said to Jess, 24.

That left Genevie, 26, looking for a new connection. She kissed Tanner Courtad, but Rachel Recchia also went for him after Brayden Bowers went on a date with Becca Serano.

John Henry Spurlock told Olivia Lewis he wanted “to be open and get to know everybody” after Kat, 27, started showing interest in him.

Bartender Wells Adams decided to read some notes from the Truth Box, including an invite for John Henry, 31, to meet an interested suitor at the hot tub at midnight. When John Henry showed up, Kat was waiting for him.

“Everything was going well with Olivia but, I don’t know, just something about you … you did it to me,” he said to her.

John Henry also told Kat he could “see myself with you outside of here.”

Though John Henry did tell Kat he had some “concerns,” she tried to assure him that “I would always stay true to someone I'm pursuing.”

They kissed and Kat called it the “first kiss I’ve been waiting to have.”

When they rejoined the group, Olivia, 24, wanted to talk to Kat. Olivia told Kat she felt “super disrespected” by how she went about pursuing John Henry.

“He’s a really stand-up guy and I see that and I don't want him to be used,” Olivia continued.

Kat said she didn’t think her friendship with Olivia warranted a discussion. “I just haven’t really felt like we had developed a friendship that I felt like I needed to come to you,” Kat said. “I’m closer with the other girls.”

Olivia left the conversation telling Kat to “move with genuine intent” and threw her hand in Kat’s face.

At the beginning of the rose ceremony, everyone realized they hadn’t seen Becca, 26. When Jesse, 45, found her, she expressed concerns about her relationship with Brayden, 24.

“There was lots of doubt about my relationship with Brayden, and I’m kind of listening to that,” she told Jesse. “I wanted to see if what we have is real.”

Jesse told Becca “it ultimately is your choice” to stay, and she decided to leave. Jesse informed the rest of the group, and that left Brayden wondering who he’d give his rose to.

Aven Jones started the ceremony by giving his rose to Kylee Russell. Tyler Norris followed up by offering his to Mercedes Northup, Peter Cappio extended his rose to Sam Picco and Aaron, of course, gave his rose to Eliza.

Blake’s rose went to Jess, and Tanner, 30, decided to give his rose to Rachel, 27. John Henry shocked everyone — especially Olivia — by asking Kat to accept his rose. Brayden ended up offering his rose to Olivia so she could continue trying to find love.

Genevie and Davia Bunch didn’t receive roses, so they had to pack their bags.

The next day, John Henry apologized to Olivia.

“I felt really bad about how I handled everything yesterday,” he said.

Olivia “didn’t even know what to say” to John Henry.

“Kat and Tanner broke up, and now she’s in panic mode,” Olivia said.

But Olivia felt a renewed sense of hope when Michael Barbour from Charity’s season showed up and asked to speak with her. We won’t know until next week if she landed the date, though.
