Aaron Kwok cuts exercise for new role

3 Sep – After having practiced martial arts for the film "The Monk", Hong Kong actor Aaron Kwok has taken a new challenge for his upcoming movie "Step In Blood to Find Plum" (working title).

As reported on Sina News, the actor recently attended the production commencement ceremony dressed as an old man, complete with huge glasses and grey hair, and revealed that his character is a veteran cop, though he will also play the character in a younger age.

"The costume made it easier for me to dive into my character," said Aaron. "This is the first time I grew my facial hair out this long in my acting career. This has been growing for two to three weeks!"

Aaron also revealed that his character would be different from his usual energetic cinematic persona.

"I reduced my exercise so that he would be a little solemn. It's not much of a big deal, since I love the script," said Aaron.

Meanwhile, when asked what would happen to his upcoming movie "The Monk" now that his co-star Jaycee Chan has been arrested for drugs, Aaron replied, "I am only doing my job as an actor. The rest can be handled by the company."
