Abbott Elementary renewed for season 4
Comedy mockumentary Abbott Elementary has been renewed for a fourth season.
The Emmy-winning programme, which was created by and stars Quinta Brunson as a teacher at an underfunded public school in Philadelphia, recently premiered its third season.
Now, with just one episode of season three having aired on February 7, class will stay in session after the announcement of a renewal for season four.

The renewal was announced by William Stanford Davis – who plays school janitor Mr. Johnson – on February 10 at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour.
The cast of Abbott Elementary includes Tyler James Williams as Gregory, Janelle James as Principal Ava, Parent Trap star Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa, Chris Perfetti as Jacob and Emmy winner Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara. It has also guest starred A-Listers like Empire's Taraji P. Henson.
Season three introduced a handful of new faces to the cast, including Lucifer's Kimia Behpoornia, Scream VI's Josh Segarra and Never Have I Ever's Benjamin Norris.

Abbott Elementary is not the only TV series to have recently received a renewal.
Horror series Goosebumps was one, and its second season will be an anthology, introducing an entirely new cast and plots to its spooky world, based on the classic books by R.L. Stine.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians, from the book series by Rick Riordan, was another; the second season will adapt the second book, The Sea of Monsters, which sees the titular son of Poseidon attempt to rescue the satyr Grover from a cyclops.
Riordan recently revealed that he'd started writing episodes for season two before its official renewal.
Abbott Elementary airs on ABC in the US, and is available on Disney+ in the UK.
