ABC’s ‘The Rookie’ Recruits Deric Augustine & Patrick Keleher For Season 7

ABC’s The Rookie has recruited two new rookies for Season 7 to be played by Deric Augustine (All American) and Patrick Keleher. They will debut during midseason.

Created by Alexi Hawley, The Rookie stars Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, the oldest rookie at the Los Angeles Police Department. The cast also includes Mekia Cox as Nyla Harper, Alyssa Diaz as Angela
Lopez, Richard T. Jones as Sergeant Wade Grey, Melissa O’Neil as Lucy Chen, Eric Winter as Tim
Bradford, Jenna Dewan as Bailey Nune, Shawn Ashmore as Wesley Evers, Tru Valentino as Aaron
Thorsen and Lisseth Chavez as Celina Juarez.

In recurring roles, Augustine plays “Miles,” one of the newest rookies at the LAPD. As a Texas transfer, Miles is a “rookie” despite being a two-year veteran of the force. Keleher plays “Seth,” one of the newest rookies at the LAPD. He seems like the ideal police officer, but the job requires quick, decisive action — something that doesn’t come naturally to Seth.

Hawley executive produces with Mark Gordon, Fillion, Michelle Chapman, Brynn Malone, Bill Norcross and Jon Steinberg. Lionsgate Television is the lead studio and international distributor of The Rookie, a co-production with ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios.

Augustine is best known for his portrayal of Muhammad Ali in the MGM+ series Godfather of Harlem Season 1 and his role as Clay in the CW’s All American. His credits also include Apple TV+’s Swagger, Showtime’s Shameless, CBS’ Criminal Minds, the CW’s The Vampire Diaries and Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, among others. He is repped by is repped by Greene Talent and Zero Gravity Management.

Keleher is making his TV debut in The Rookie. He recently starred in the play Fatherland at The Fountain Theatre. The production is going off-Broadway in the fall with Keleher reprising his role. He is represented by SDB Parters and Liberman Zerman Management.
