Actor Ned Luke identified as 'GTA V' lead

Bearing Ned Luke's likeness in the 'Grand Theft Auto V' trailer

TV Actor Ned Luke has been tagged as one of Grand Theft Auto V's main characters, after similarities betweeen the two were corroborated by an IMDB listing.

Luke has appeared in episodes of Law & Order and All My Children as well as NYPD Blue and Diagnosis Murder, and is thought to be lending both his voice and likeness to GTA V as Albert De Silva.

The choice ties in with recent quotes from Rockstar Games VP Dan Houser, who has indicated that his studio now prefers to work with relatively unknown actors.

Previous entries to the Grand Theft Auto series featured Michael Madsen and Michael Rapaport, Ray Liotta, Tom Sizemore, Peter Fonda and Samuel L. Jackson among their hit lists of Hollywood stars.

By the time of Grand Theft Auto IV, the series' biggest hit, celebrity counts were far lower, with Iggy Pop, Ricky Gervais, Juliette Lewis and Karl Lagerfeld appearing as part of radio or stage shows rather than as prominent protagonists.

Burt Reynolds, who played a character in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, now appears in Saints Row: The Third as Burt Reynolds, Mayor of Steelport.
