AEW star Swerve Strickland has landed a role in an upcoming slasher film.

Strickland will star in Stiletto opposite Gigi Gustin and Baywatch actress Charlotte McKinney, with Gustin also serving as an executive producer on the film. Colleen Camp, Pancho Moler, Tyler Abron, and Guardians of the Galaxy's Stephen Blackehart round out the cast.

Stiletto will be directed by Samuel Gonzalez Jr. who also penned the script. Filming is set to begin later this month.

The film's plot reads: "A year after the grisly murder of a local exotic dancer, the victim’s sister, Lyric (Gustin), searches for the serial killer responsible as he stalks and kills his favourite dancers on the night of the anniversary."

Speaking about the film to Deadline, Gonzalez Jr. said: "When I was a kid I would venture into the back section of the video store to find the most obscure 80s horror flicks I could find.

"I was fascinated with the 'strange and unusual' but most specifically, the early slasher cinema of that period. Stiletto follows in the bloody footsteps of those films we love so much but also pushes it to the cinematic limit, with memorable kills and a diverse cast of both up and comers and legends alike."

He added: "It's a true love 'obituary' and we can't wait to introduce the world to our Stiletto Killer."

Ex-WWE Superstar Swerve is currently on the rise in AEW following his feud with Hangman Page and his performance in the Continental Classic tournament. His most recent match was a victory over Daniel Garcia on last week's Dynamite (January 3).
