Ali Al Mansoori edges Saeed Al Mehari in SWS Ramadan Challenge final

Ali Al Mansoori held his nerve to claim a thrilling victory as the UAE took the top three positions in the Grand Final of the SWS Ramadan Challenge.

Al Mansoori edged compatriot Saeed Al Mehari, who fell short by a mere 0.114 of a second as the pair crossed the line side-by-side in the opening round at Dubai’s Kartdrome on Monday night.

Atef Al Barwani had to work hard to claim third spot by holding off the relentless challenges of fourth placed Muhammad Imran, ahead of Hussein Umid Ali in fifth and sixthplaced Ali Al Najjar.

Dubai Falcons Racing Team manager Hadi Al Bloushi finished seventh, while Piotr Karykowski, Lee Broadbank and Nadia Khan completed the top 10.

Alexandre Silanine was the only driver out of the 25 participants to not finish the full 12 laps, having retired after lap four.

Meanwhile, former Rotax Max DD2 campaigner Arnoud Bouf beat defending champion Carsten Winter to win the SWS Masters, while Gary Jones took third spot.
