Along with her denim-on-denim attire, Keys elevated her street style a step further. The singer wore a gold shirt with layers of shimmering fabric by Cult Gaia, which stood out in contrast to Keys’ dark blue pieces. She continued the gold motif with her accessories.

Keys wore a pair of bold gold hoop earrings to complete her look. As for her hair and makeup, the singer’s hair was pulled back and her makeup featured blue eye shadow. The entire look was a masterclass in how to seamlessly elevate street style.

In many ways, Keys’ recent sartorial statements have harkened back to inspiration from her Broadway musical, “Hell’s Kitchen.” For the opening night of the show in New York City on April 20, Keys opted for a retro look by Jean Paul Gaultier.

The double denim ensemble featured a jacket in a shade of indigo blue and contrasting lingerie topstitched details in hues of gold. The look also paid homage to Keys’ early 2000s style.

Since the opening night of “Hell’s Kitchen,” Keys’ style has continued to evoke a retro vibe. The singer and songwriter recently made an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” fashioning a look that recalled the ’90s. Keys wore a jersey from FUBU’s collaboration with the “Hell’s Kitchen” musical and baggy cargo pants courtesy of Off-White.

“Hell’s Kitchen” is a 13-time Tony Award nominated musical loosely based on Keys’ own childhood in the New York City neighborhood in the ’90s. Keys wrote the lyrics and music for the show, with a book by Kristoffer Diaz.
