Southeast Asia’s leading accelerator and early-stage investor 1337 Ventures today announced the winners of Alpha Startups Indonesia inaugural demo day held this weekend at Sequis Centre, Jakarta.

Boonda, Shareciety, and Student Jobs Indonesia are the three startups that had been chosen to receive US$25,000-worth of funding and service. They will also participate in a three-month accelerator programme managed by 1337 Ventures in Jakarta to help them hit the ground running and be seed ready within the duration.

“Convergence Ventures was proud to have supported a program to help seed stage entrepreneurs accelerate their ideas to potential businesses. We hope that all participants gained some valuable insights through the structured course and mentorship and look forward to the next round of applicants this summer,” said Adrian Li, Managing Partner Convergence Ventures, in a statement.

Alpha Startups Indonesia is a five-day idea validation programme. This year, it received over 200 applications. After the selection process, 25 teams were selected into the bootcamp which led to the top 11 ideas being selected for the demo day.

Participants got to receive mentoring from speakers such as Natali Ardianto (Tiket.com), Erik Ten (Zona Wifi), Kevin Darmawan (Coffee Ventures), Windy Natriavi (Go-Jek), Supreet Sethi (Tokopedia), Heriyadi Janwar (Bhinneka, previously Microsoft Indonesia), and Ratih Wulandari (who had worked on marketing/growth at companies such as Zalora, aCommerce and Homejoy).

The three winning teams are:

1. Boonda – an online marketplace for mothers to share skills and earn money from it. According to Founder Reizah Avrianty, the company targets to go from idea to product within the next three months.

2. Shareciety – a marketplace to ‘rent anything from people you know’. It was founded by Erik Hormein.

3. Student Jobs Indonesia, a job-seeking platform for new graduates. It was founded by Annisa Purbandari Fauzia.

Alpha Startups originates from Malaysia. Its entrance to the Indonesian startup scene was the result of partnership between Convergence Ventures, Baidu Indonesia and Gobi Partners.

The programme has coached 196 startups from previous camps in Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines. Twenty-three of the graduates received follow-on financing from angel investors, accelerators, venture capital firms and government funds.
