Andre Agassi's wife Steffi Graf was on his mind when he returned to the Australian Open this weekend.

The tennis star, 53, was at the event at Melbourne Park on Sunday for the first time since 2019 to introduce the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup and the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup before the first ball of the tournament was hit.

"Talk to me 🇦🇺❤️!!" Agassi captioned a carousel of photos and video from the event on Instagram. In the first photo of the set, he leaned down and kissed a black-and-white photo of Graf, 54, accepting the 1994 trophy at the event.

He also posted a video of himself touching a banner with Graf's name on it that listed the years she won the women's event — 1988, 1989, 1990 and 1994 — before she retired in 1999. Agassi won the men's tournament in 1995, 2000, 2001 and 2003, then retired from the sport in 2006.

Agassi and Graf married in 2001 and have two children together: Jaden Gil Agassi, 22, and  Jaz Elle Agassi, 20.

While in Australia, Agassi opened up about the secret to a successful marriage in an interview for the radio show Fifi, Fev & Nick For Breakfast.

"You pick your battles, man, you pick your battles," he said joking that the first one he learned not to pick was bragging about the trophies he won, because, he said, Graf would then just go out and win more of her own to bring home.

In day-to-day life, he said, "We both struggle delegating, so if anything we compete over whose doing what and when."

But everything works out in the end because "we each try to overachieve for the other one, let's put it that way."

Whatever the couple's dynamic, it's working. On New Year's Day, Agassi also posted a sweet photo on Instagram of him giving Graf a big hug to welcome in 2024.
