Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh, 18, files to drop Pitt surname
Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, eldest biological child of Angelina and Brad, has filed to remove Pitt from her surname, one of her first moves as a legal adult.
Jolie-Pitt filed paperwork on Monday, the same day she turned 18, to legally change her name to Shiloh Jolie, according to documents viewed by TMZ. The request has not yet been approved, according to the outlet.
Jolie-Pitt is not the first of her five siblings to drop their father’s surname. Both Maddox, 22, and Zahara, 19, who were adopted by Jolie alone, reportedly no longer use Pitt in their surnames. While working as a production assistant for the Broadway musical, “The Outsiders,” produced by her mother, Vivienne — one of the former couple’s 15-year-old biological twins — listed her name only as Vivienne Jolie in a recent Playbill, per TMZ.
The “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” star, 60, reportedly has been long estranged from the kids he shares with his ex-wife, 48.
The “Girl, Interrupted” star in 2018 accused the two-time Oscar winner of having “paid no meaningful child support since separation.”
Two years later, upon winning his first acting Oscar, Pitt told reporters he wanted his kids — who also include Pax, 20 and Vivienne’s twin, Knox — to “follow their bliss, follow their passions, whatever they’re most interested in … try what their passion is.” He said, “We can have that conversation once they’re 18.”
Following their 2003 meeting on the set of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” while Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston, he joined Jolie to adopt Zahara in 2005 — shortly after his split from the “Friends” star. Pitt and Jolie welcomed Shiloh the following year and wed in the summer of 2014. Their divorce was finalized in 2019.
