It's Been 2 Years Since The Fall Of Roe V. Wade. How Have Abortion Bans Personally Affected You?

On June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a landmark case that once set a precedent in favor of a pregnant person's right to choose. In the two years since that day, it's been harder to access an abortion in the United States in cases of unwanted pregnancy or harm to the mother's health.

So, if you or someone you know has been personally affected by the abortion bans that came on the heels of the Supreme Court's reversal of the right to choose, we want to hear from you.

Maybe you're a healthcare provider, and it breaks your heart to tell patients that you legally can't offer them the care they need. You try to provide other resources to help them find a place out of state, but you know that all the red tape and having to jump through hoops means that this healthcare is no longer accessible to everyone who wants or needs it.

Or perhaps you or someone you know had to travel out of state for an abortion, and it was much harder than it sounds. You had to drive for three days from your home state to get to a state where abortion is still allowed, and it was a really expensive and depressing journey that made you feel like our country doesn't value your life or bodily autonomy.

Or maybe you live in a state with lots of restrictions around abortion, so you took action to prevent further pregnancies. You previously weren't sure whether you wanted more kids or not, but due to a health condition, you were afraid that another pregnancy could be dangerous to you and it would be too hard to get an abortion if that happened. Now you're grieving the family you wanted to have, but you did what you had to do to feel safe.
