Arcane season 2 releases trailer as Netflix confirms it's ending
Arcane will bow out with its upcoming second season, it's been confirmed.
The news was announced following the release of the animated Netflix show’s trailer for season two, which sees all of Piltover set out on a revenge-fuelled hunt for Jinx after her attack on the city’s Council in season one's finale.
It’s not all bad news, however, as the show’s co-creator Christian Linke revealed to Variety that Arcane merely marks "the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and partnership with the wonderful animation studio that is Fortiche".

He continued: "From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season. But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra."
The long-awaited follow-up season of the acclaimed series, which is based on the League of Legends video game series, will see Hailee Steinfeld and Ella Purnell reprise their roles as warring sisters Vi and Jinx, who can be seen getting into an action-packed showdown at the end of the trailer.
"In this final chapter, Jinx’s attack on the Council sets the stage for a dire escalation of the conflict between Piltover and Zaun," reads the new season’s official synopsis.

Caitlyn (Katie Leung) and Vi's relationship will also be explored further in season two, as previously confirmed by co-creator Alex Yee.
"We have always wanted to tell an organic story about Caitlyn and Vi that feels like it's really true to how we see them, you know, and how they've been seen," he said.
"The way in which we wanted to roll that story out has always been sort of determined. What you will see in season two will be part of the big picture that we've had all along."
Arcane season one is streaming now on Netflix. Season 2 will be released in November.
