Arrest after man stabbed in altercation

A suspect has been arrested after a man was stabbed in East Sussex.

Emergency services were called to a report of an altercation in Battle Road, St Leonards, at about 21:30 BST on Wednesday.

A 45-year-old local man was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, police said.

Another local man, 56, has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and remains in custody.

“Officers believe this was an isolated incident that did not pose a wider risk to the community,” a police spokesman said.
