'Arrow' Recap: Explosive Episode Has Tragic Ending
Arrow’s “Monument Point” was an explosive episode, as the gang tried to keep a bunch of nuclear missiles from destroying the earth. Bad guy Damien Darhk had a plan to blow up the surface of the earth with the missiles and then start civilization over as the leader. Since Darhk gets his power from murdering people, killing 7 billion people would make him very powerful indeed.
Team Arrow recruited Felicity’s father, the Calculator, to help them hack the missile systems and stop the attack. And they were fairly successful, stopping all but one missile.
The best they could do with the last remaining missile was to push it slightly off course. It was originally supposed to detonate in Monument Point, a city with a population of several million people. Instead the missile destroyed the small town of Havenrock, killing only tens of thousands. Nonetheless, all those deaths fed Darhk’s power immensely, and he may prove too strong for team Arrow to overcome.
Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on CW.
