Arsenal injury update: Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber latest news and return dates
Arsenal’s injury list is almost completely eradicated after coming through Sunday’s trip to Manchester City largely unscathed.
Concerns over Bukayo Saka’s substitution have been addressed by Mikel Arteta after the winger started at the Etihad having been a doubt.
Gabriel Martinelli came off the bench in the 0-0 draw on his return from a foot complaint.
It means the Gunners are waiting on only Jurrien Timber as he nears his comeback from a serious knee injury.
Here is your latest update of Arsenal injury news and return dates...
Bukayo Saka
Saka did not last the full 90 minutes on Sunday and Arteta revealed post-match that this was down to his inability to train beforehand, due to a minor muscle issue.
But the winger only suffered from fatigue before his departure, as opposed to a fresh injury problem.
“As you know he’s been out for a few weeks now with a little problem,” he said.
“He was feeling that fatigue. Right now he hasn’t trained. He trained just one day before the match. He made a big contribution, but 90 minutes was a lot today.”
Potential return date: Wednesday, April 3 vs Luton
Jurrien Timber
There were rumours that Timber would be involved in the City game having stepped up his return to training.
However, the Gunners will likely play it safe with his comeback particularly given Arteta is flush with options in his defence at this time.
Potential return date: April/May 2024
