For Ashley Tisdale, her latest outing proves it was all about being stylish and comfortable as she gets ready for baby number two.
Tisdale wore a black, woven mesh pair of ballet flats while supporting pal Jeremy Scott at his CYBEX car seat collection launch in West Hollywood on Wednesday. The shoes have a rounded toe and a black and silver buckle that goes over the top of the foot and closes on the side. The breathable shoe has a thick, pleather type of material that goes around the top of the foot, layering around the mesh. There appears to be a very small platform at the back of the see-through flats, making it easy to see Tisdale’s polished toes.
The High School Musical alum attended the event at Mel’s Drive-In in West Hollywood and posed in a long, black, spaghetti strap dress next to one of Scott’s stroller designs. She kept her aviator sunglasses on as the famous fashion designer later joined her for a photo.
Scott’s latest designs will keep kids safe while also looking good. The collection of strollers, car seats and accessories prides itself on its sleek tail-fins, dazzling chrome accents and the most vibrant turquoise hues. The car seat, which is CYBEX’s newest product with Scott, blends American nostalgia with cutting-edge fashion. Wednesday’s event took inspiration from the details of this collection, exuding an iconic retro charm inspired by old school drive-ins and diners, where waitresses in roller skates glided through the booths and jukebox tunes filled the air amid colorfully vibrant vintage-inspired décor. Other notable names like Ashley Benson, Mario Lopez and Jenna Dewan also joined Tisdale for the afternoon of fun.
Tisdale, who’s already mom to 3-year-old daughter Jupiter French, is just the latest celebrity to jump on the see-through shoe trend. Jennifer Lopez was spotted earlier this year in a pointed-toe, black mesh ballet flat while Chrissy Teigan chose a rounded-toe black flat posing next to husband John Legend. Kourtney Kardashian and Gigi Hadid are just a couple of other names who have been seen in black pairs of the trendy, breathable shoe lately, too.
Ballet flats as a women’s shoe style emerged in the 1950s, and soon caught on as a pleasant medium between heels and sneakers. The style was especially popular in the noughties, though it has stayed in fashion over the decades for its versatility of wear.
