Audrina Patridge and Michael Ray are exploring their newfound romance.

The Hills alum and country star first confirmed they were dating in July 2024 after teasing their relationship on Instagram. Both Patridge and Ray have been married previously, with Patridge sharing a daughter, Kirra, with her ex-husband Corey Bohan.

Ray and his ex-wife, fellow country singer Carly Pearce, filed for divorce in June 2020 after eight months of marriage. However, the “Whiskey and Rain” singer told PEOPLE three years later, in June 2023, that he was open to finding love and settling down again.

“I believe that that's what we're put on this world to do, is to find somebody that you connect with that makes you better and create a family and leave a legacy,” he said on whether he’d marry again in the future. “So for sure, one day."

Patridge and Ray first fueled dating rumors after Stagecoach in April 2024

The couple were first rumored to be together after Patridge posted photos from Stagecoach in April 2024 and fans were quick to notice Ray liked her carousel of images. Since then, Ray and Patridge have been liking each other’s photos, though neither posted photos of each other at the time.

Patridge teased her relationship with Ray in June 2024

Patridge gave the first glimpse into her relationship with Ray in June 2024, sharing a photo of herself giving Ray a kiss while her legs were wrapped around him on her Instagram Stories.

“This one…,” she captioned the shot, adding a smiley face with hearts.

Patridge and Ray went Instagram official less than a month after the initial tease

Just a few weeks after her Instagram soft launch, Patridge and Ray went official when the reality TV star posted a photo of the two of them embracing in July. In the sweet shot, Patridge caressed Ray’s face as they smiled at each other.

“‘There’s a lot of things in life worth letting go, But the ones that mean the most, you gotta hold’ 🤍,” she wrote in the caption, quoting Ray’s song “Hold.”

“Let’s go babe!!! Grateful for you and Kirra ❤️♾️,” Ray wrote in the comment section, referring to Patridge’s daughter. She wrote back, “❤️❤️.”

Both Ray and Patridge reshared the post on their Instagram Stories, with the latter adding a drawn white heart over the photo.

Patridge has previously spoken about her struggles dating as a single parent

Patridge has been honest about her priorities while dating as a single parent. She and Bohan split in 2017, leaving her with sole physical custody of their daughter.

"I have my daughter 24/7, so when I do go on a date, I don't want to waste my time because I could be with my daughter," Patridge told E! News in July 2022. "I'm still navigating that, to be honest."

Ray has been open about seeking therapy following his divorce

Ray went through a painful divorce of his own in June 2020 when he split from Pearce. He opened up to PEOPLE in June 2023 about how the stress of the divorce took him down a dark path of depression and anger.

Coming from a family with divorced parents, Ray said the feeling that he was following in their footsteps led him to spiral even more.

"I come from a broken family. So a little bit for me was like, 'Am I repeating the process?' " he said. "I never understood depression or had depression. All of a sudden, I was getting very angry. I didn't trust anybody."

After seeking therapy, Ray said he learned to come to terms with his split and deal with what he was going through.

"Two people were involved in something, and two people dropped the ball individually," he said. "However I dropped the ball, I don't want to continue that. I did a lot of introspective work."

Patridge has said she values communication in a relationship

Patridge has also spoken candidly about what she looks for in her relationships following her divorce, including a strong line of communication and knowing when to end it.

"Now, it's like, I love myself enough to walk away,” she told PEOPLE in July 2022. “You have to love yourself enough to say enough is enough. Or I'm not putting up with this.”

She continued, “You crossed the line and I'm not okay with it. It's all about communication and setting boundaries and not being pushed into peer pressure, or gaining that strength, courage and security back that you're going to be okay.”
