Of all the many, many Bachelor Nation couples who've married, eight of them have done it on TV.

The pioneers were Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, the very first Bachelorette couple and one of the franchise's biggest success stories (they've been married almost 20 years and together have two kids).

In fact, the couples who wed on television have a decent track record, with five of the eight still going strong.

As Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner and his fiancée Theresa Nist prepare to wed live on ABC on Thursday night, Jan. 4, look back on all the other Bachelor Nation couples who shared their vows with millions of viewers.

The next year, they became the first Bachelor Nation couple to marry on TV in a three-part December 2003 miniseries calledTrista & Ryan's Wedding. It was watched by 26 million viewers and set the stage for the Bachelor tradition.

The reception was held at the Lodge at Rancho Mirage (a hotel and resort about 120 miles east of L.A.) and overall cost almost $4 million, PEOPLE reported.

The couple will celebrate 20 years of marriage this year, and together have two children.

A torrential downpour didn't stop The Bachelor season 13 loves Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney from getting married in front of 300 guests on Feb. 27, 2010, at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Host Chris Harrison officiated.

"Jason was so sweet and wiped tears off Molly's face," said an onlooker. As the ceremony ended, "they kissed passionately. They looked so happy to finally be married."

They took quite the road to get there: Mesnick initially proposed to Melissa Rycroft on his season, but ended up reversing his decision on one of the most wild After the Final Rose specials ever. There, he broke up with Rycroft and asked runner-up Malaney for a second chance; she accepted, and the rest is history.

The pair share one daughter, Riley, as well as Mesnick's son Tyler from a previous marriage.

The second Bachelorette pair to wed, season 7's Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum had their dream wedding on Dec. 1, 2012, at the Landham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, California.

Hebert walked down the aisle in a $75,000 Randi Rahm custom-designed gown to a performance of Elvis Presley's "Fools Rush In." Harrison officiated a nondenominational service, which featured Jewish traditions in honor of Rosenbaum's faith.

"She looked like an angel standing there," Rosenbaum told PEOPLE. "I was blown away."

They went on to welcome two children together, but in October 2020, announced they were divorcing.

Lowe's father officiated the ceremony and called their romance "an epic fairy tale on display for the whole world to see."

The couple spent weeks working with celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss on all the details of the ceremony and reception at the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara.

"We want some traditional type of ceremony that just unifies us and then have a big party afterwards," Giudici said.

The two have three children together.

On June 4, 2015, Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul got married on the set of Bachelor in Paradise just one year after they met — and got engaged — on the first season of the show.

“Marcus and I met on Bachelor in Paradise; that’s where our solid foundation started,” Faddoul told PEOPLE. “We thought, ‘Why not start the next chapter of our lives there as well?’ ”

The wedding, which aired on the show’s season 2 premiere and was officiated by Harrison, took place at Playa Escondida in Sayulita, Mexico, as close family and the cast of season 2 looked on.

The marriage wasn't legally binding, and the pair split in 2016.

As a major surprise, Seal stepped on stage to serenade the newlyweds with "Kiss from a Rose" for their first dance. "It was awesome," said Tolbert.

"The setting, in a garden overlooking the ocean, created a stunning visual that [we] don't think anyone will forget. Evan's children delivered heartfelt and hysterical speeches that had everyone laughing and crying simultaneously. The love from Bachelor Nation has been overwhelming and we are so grateful to all who helped make this day amazing."

Though Bachelor in Paradise season 7 stars Kenny Braasch and Mari Pepin kept their actual late 2023 wedding in Puerto Rico private, they did have a marriage celebration on the season 9 finale last month, with host Jesse Palmer officiating, Us Weekly reported.

“As a little girl, I always dreamed of my wedding day — what's it going to look like and what am I going to wear, but as you get older, you realize that that's not the important part,” Pepin told PEOPLE. "The important part is finding a person that you want to spend the rest of your life with. I know that Kenny is the kind of person that I want to be with forever.”
