Barry Manilow Returns to Stage for London Residency After Canceling Show 'Under Doctor's Orders'

The "Mandy" singer resumed his 14-night residency at the London Palladium on May 28 after canceling one show due to an unknown health issue

Barry Manilow is back on his feet.

After canceling a May 27 concert as part of his residency at the London Palladium in England, citing "doctor's orders," the 80-year-old "Mandy" singer returned to the venue the following day for the next scheduled show.

"We're pleased to confirm that tonight's show with Barry Manilow will go ahead as planned," wrote the Grammy winner's team on social media, letting fans know the May 27 performance is rescheduled for June 9 at 2:30 p.m. BST.

The May 28 concert seemed to go off without a hitch, as Manilow performed hits from "Copacabana" to "Looks Like We Made It" for an audience of fans including Pet Shop Boys' Chris Lowe, as they shared a photo together afterwards.

Upon calling off the May 27 performance, Manilow's team wrote on his social media accounts, "Unfortunately, under doctor’s orders, we must cancel tonight’s 27th May Barry Manilow concert."

"Please hold on to your tickets until we can sort out rescheduling tonight’s performance," continued the statement. "We are very sorry we have to make this announcement and trust that tomorrow night's concert will go on as scheduled."

Manilow's team did not specify what health issue led to the show's cancellation.

The "Can't Smile Without You" musician is set to perform at the London Palladium for a total of 14 nights, after which he'll embark on a North American tour, followed by a stint in Las Vegas and a run at New York City's Radio City Music Hall.

In a recent interview with ITV to promote the London shows, Manilow declared he's "done with touring."

"Everybody tells me at this age, how come I am still running around and singing the high Fs? I don’t know, I just think it’s gotten old for me now. I’m done with touring, but I’ll keep making records," he told the outlet.

As for why Manilow chose to spend 14 nights performing in London, the N.Y.C.-born icon declared his British fans have historically been "louder than any other audience."
