'BBT' Fans Are Convinced They Know How 'Young Sheldon' Will End Based on This Detail
Young Sheldon is wrapping up after seven seasons on May 16, and fans are intrigued to know how the sitcom will end its TV run. Well, thanks to a sneak peek involving Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik, there may be an unexpected clue.
On May 6, The Big Bang Theory spinoff series' social team went on Instagram to share a first look at Jim and Mayim reprising their roles as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler in the series finale. Posting two photos to the platform, fans saw Sheldon sitting down in front of his laptop, with Amy looking over his shoulder at the screen. What's more, the fictional married couple appear to be intently peering at something important to them, and the show used the sneak peek to imply what's to come in the final episode.
"Unfortunately Sheldon hasn’t invented time travel yet, so we’ll just have to enjoy this sneak peek of the #YoungSheldon finale until next Thursday," read the official caption on May 6.
Given how it's been hyped up that Jim and Amy are reprising their roles on the sitcom involving a younger version of Jim's character, fans on Instagram have a pretty interesting theory about how the adults fold into the Young Sheldon story.
"I'm guessing it’s him writing his autobiography 💀," one person theorized in the comments. "Sheldon is writing a book, isn’t he? It’s finished now, and that’s what we’ve been watching all this time," another agreed. "Don’t tell me the ending is Sheldon writing a autobiography 😭," a different follower added.

If the idea of Sheldon writing a book about his life is in fact how Young Sheldon ends, it definitely fits into the nature of the series. Viewers know Jim has been voicing the series (as adult Sheldon) since the beginning, with Iain Armitage playing the genius in his childhood and adolescent phases. Additionally, Jim is an executive producer on the show, meaning he's probably had an idea of how his role will fold into Young Sheldon longer than fans likely know.
As viewers may remember, the news of Jim and Mayim making an appearance on Young Sheldon first dropped in early March, and Jim teased his cameo for fans. The show also posted a sneak peek on TikTok featuring him and Iain in late April, causing a stir among fans on what's to come.
Needless to say, we'll definitely be tuning in for the final two episodes!
