Bollywood’s fittest star shares her beauty and fitness secrets with Vogue India

Beauty belief
“Healthy food and exercise is the key to living well. I also drink lots of water through the day. It’s my simple home recipe for glowing skin.”

Favourite look
“A sexy smoky eye paired with a pale, nude lip.”

Hair secret
“My hair is my biggest beauty asset, and I believe a good conditioner helps hair looking healthy, shiny and full of life. I invest in regular oil massages to keep my locks looking good. Whether it’s voluminous curls, sleek-straight or beach waves, I like to experiment with my hairstyles and resort a lot to styling. I have naturally black hair, but I like to have some colour in the form of streaks and highlights. Wella Kolestint is my go-to hair colour.”

Beauty rituals
“I believe in cleansing, toning and moisturising my face before going to bed. My morning beauty regime starts with drinking four to six glasses of water and eating almonds soaked in water overnight. I never step out without a sunscreen, it’s crucial to avoid UV damage. At night, I massage almond oil around my eyes to nourish the delicate under-eye skin and keep it line- and wrinkle-free. I also avoid wearing heavy make-up when I’m not working.”

Vanity case
"I think it’s crucial to focus on quality beauty products and keep your make-up natural and simple. I always carry M.A.C Liquid Eye Liner, a blush in warm brown hues and a gold highlighter with me. I am also a big fan of M.A.C lipglosses, especially coral and pink shades."

Diet discipline
“I eat everything except red meat and rice. Lots of greens, chicken, dal, roti and vegetables form a part of my daily diet. For beautiful skin, I recommend fish, barley, nuts, seeds, sprouts, yogurt, fruits and vegetables—especially the leafy, green variety. Fish and nuts are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids that help with glowing skin.”

Guilty pleasure
“I have a major sweet tooth, but I eat sweets or desserts in small portions so I don’t feel I deprived or guilty.”

Favorite holiday destinations
“Paris and Goa. Right now, Greece is on my mind.”

Heaven scent
“Baby Doll by Yves Saint Laurent.”

Fitness files
“I change my fitness routine regularly and don’t stick to just one format. I include both cardio and muscle training in my routine. You need not be a gym person—a brisk walk, a run in a park, taking the stairs instead of an elevator can all help in making you fit.”
