It’s no secret that fans are shipping Below Deck Down Under's Captain Jason Chambers and Aesha Scott.

The Captain and Chef Steward opened up to PEOPLE at BravoCon 2023 about their on-screen spark and why they have kept things platonic.

“People love us together, and I understand that because we do have a lot of chemistry — but it's like a sibling chemistry,” said Scott, 32.

Chambers, 50, agreed, “It would feel a bit weird.”

During Sunday's Below Deck crew at the convention, Scott opened up about why the pair connects: "I verbalize everything he is thinking. We both have dirty 12-year-old boy minds."

But, the crossover Winter House star reiterated that she looks at her boss “like a brother,” adding, “I don't see him and my panties drop."

The Bravo star — who has been in a long-term relationship with another Aussie: Scotty Dobson — also clarified there “absolutely” nothing going on between her and Chambers. “I can tell you I've not once been attracted to him," she said. "It was platonic from the start."

Throughout season 2 of Below Deck Down Under, Scott famously got up close and personal with Chambers while helping him put in his contact lenses — a gesture many fans found rather intimate.

And though both Bravo stars deny those assumptions, Chambers did admit to PEOPLE that his contact challenges are still very real and that he's “still struggling” with the daily task.

Scott noted, “I've actually seen him in glasses most times I've seen him since we filmed so he hasn't learned anything.”

She added in the Luck Be a Bravo Lady panel panel on Sunday: “Every time I’ve seen him, he’s only got one in because he still can’t get his left eye.”

Scott previously addressed helping him with his contact lenses on an episode of Watch What Happens Live in July.

After being asked about Chambers’ grossest habits, she responded, “Well, I don’t know if it’s gross, but I think everyone can see he’s a grown man and he doesn’t know how to put contacts in. So maybe we can work on self-growth?”

The same month, she opened up about her bond with Chambers in an interview with The Daily Dish, saying, “He’s my captain, but he’s also my friend.”

“He supports me so much. He’s always doing my dishes and emptying my bins,” she added. "And I’m going up in the morning and putting his contacts in. We’re just a really supportive unit.”
