Aesha Scott is opening up about the surprising change her fiancé wants to make after they get married.

During an appearance on the June 4 episode of Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge's Two Ts in a Pod podcast, the Below Deck Mediterranean star, 31, revealed that her husband-to-be, Scott "Scotty" Dobson, is set on taking her last name following their wedding.

After Judge, 56, congratulated Scott on her recent engagement and commented, "I love that his name is Scott and your last name is Scott," the Bravo star shared that Dobson taking her name is something the couple has been in agreement about for some time.

"We've always said that when we get married, he's gonna take my last name, so he becomes Scott Scott," Scott said, before admitting that she has urged Dobson to get his family's blessing on the change.

"Now that we're engaged, I was like, 'I do just want you to check with your dad and just make sure that your family won't be, like, offended or whatever if you give up your last name,' " she continued. "But, yeah, we'll see."

She said it's difficult to pass up such a unique name combo. "Who else gets that opportunity?" she noted.

Judge suggested that Dobson could go by Scotty Scott, pointing out, "It's like Marky Mark."

"Yeah, I'm into it," Scott replied. "The Scotty helps."

Since Scott recorded her podcast appearance, however, it seems she and Dobson are now feeling some hesitancy about the name change. When asked about it, she told Entertainment Tonight that the pair are "starting to falter on it a little bit."

"I still really want him to go ahead, I think he still really wants it to go ahead, but I did say to him the other day, 'Just make sure that by doing this, you're not gonna be breaking your dad's heart or insulting your family in some way,' because his family's a little bit more traditional than mine," Scott said in an interview published on Monday, June 3.

She added, "So, I just want him to make sure that that's all clear, and then we can go ahead with Scott Scott."

Elsewhere during her Two Ts in a Pod appearance, Scott shared a few details about her and Dobson's wedding plans, revealing that the couple is aiming to tie the knot in her home country of New Zealand in early 2026.

"We wanna do a long engagement. So it won't be this summer, it will be next summer, which will be February 2026, which I know sounds like a long time away," she said, explaining that they have a lot of American family and friends who will be traveling far for the occasion.

"So we just wanna give everyone a long enough time that they can save and apply for time off work and all of that and turn that into a holiday," she continued.

Their vision for the big day, she said, is an outdoor ceremony by the sea. "Cliffside looking out at the ocean, the wind in my hair," Scott shared. "Just very, very wholesome outdoorsy kind of wedding, but big and beautiful."

The podcast conversation also turned to another recent wedding in the Bravo family. Scott's Below Deck Mediterranean costar Captain Sandy Yawn married her longtime partner Leah Shafer on May 11, and Scott was among the guests.

"It was beautiful. It was in true Sandy style on a superyacht," she recalled of the nuptials.

"It was my first time on a superyacht as a guest sipping champagne, which was exciting," Scott jokingly added, referring to her job as chief stew on the reality series, which sees her waiting on a succession of VIP guests during charters.
