Bernie Sanders grills Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz over ‘vicious anti-union efforts’

Bernie Sanders grilled Howard Schultz at the Starbucks CEO's appearance before the US Senate’s labour committee on Wednesday, 29 March.

It comes after a federal labour judge ordered the company to reinstate fired workers and reopen a store after finding that the company violated labour laws “hundreds of times” during a union effort in Buffalo, New York.

The Vermont senator accused the coffee chain of engaging in "vicious anti-union efforts."

"Starbucks has waged the most aggressive and illegal union-busting campaign in the modern history of our country," Mr Sanders said.
