Best Dressed at Cartier Queen’s Polo Cup 2024: Gugu Mbatha-Raw, David Jonsson, Tom Blyth and More

LONDON — Who says the sun never comes out in England?

On Sunday, Cartier hosted its luncheon for the Queen’s Cup at Windsor, an annual polo event the brand has been sponsoring for years and it was sunshine all around — a rarity, considering last year it poured with rain.

This year there was much to celebrate.

Cartier raised a glass to its 40th anniversary of sponsoring the Guards Polo Club, where the event is held, and 12 years as the Queen’s Cup Polo’s official sponsor.

Bellboys dressed in Cartier livery greeted guests as they hopped out of their Wheely cars and walked through a green and yellow floral arch. At the end of the arch, they were greeted by uniformed waiters handing out Cartier’s own-label Champagne and cocktails.

More than 120 guests from the entertainment, fashion and music industries attended.

Guests included Gugu Mbatha-Raw, David Jonsson, Tom Blyth, Kara Marni, Isabella Charlotta Poppius, Lucien Laviscount, Hannah Dodd, Alex Sharp, Honor Swinton-Byrne, Jasmine Jobson, Grace Carter, Jessica Madsen, Jessica Plummer, India Mullen, Emma Naomi, Tom Rhys Harries, Priya Ahluwalia, Dixie Egerickx and more.

Cartier’s U.K. managing director Laurent Feniou hosted the lunch and then later joined King Charles in the Royal Box to watch the polo match kick off between the teams Talandracas and La Dolfina Great Oaks as they battled it out for the Cartier Queen’s Cup.

It was a victory for Talandracas, who last won the cup in 2011.

Back at the Cartier tent, afternoon tea was served with lobster rolls, scones and chocolate éclairs as Pip Millett performed an acoustic set.

“It’s my favorite day out of the summer. The vibes are always vibing. Chatter, food and lots of fun — apologies to my dad, however for missing Father’s Day,” said singer Kara Marni, who was dressed in a geometric Joshua Kane suit.

She did grab her father a consolation prize — a polo ball that she caught.

Marni recently released a new single “Wild, Young & Free,” which has been in the U.K. official charts for three weeks.

“As an independent artist I’m super proud of it. I’m also preparing for lots of upcoming shows. I have Cardiff Pride next week and am buzzing to be supporting James Arthur in August,” she said.

Presenter and model Isabella Charlotta Poppius is a frequent guest at the luncheon.

“This is my third year now and every year is different, so it never feels the same which is rare for a reoccurring event. It’s such an amazing day spent with friends both old and new and of course enjoying a spot of polo in the process,” she said.

Poppius wore a Hellessy ensemble with Jimmy Choo accessories. “I very much feel like it’s a modern take on Brigitte Bardot in Saint Tropez,” she said.

“Coincidentally, there’s a nod to Princess Kate’s comeback outfit at Trooping the Colour with the big bow detail on the shoulder,” she added.
