Beyond Paradise's Sally Bretton lands next TV role
Beyond Paradise star Sally Bretton has landed her next TV role in Channel 5 drama The Au Pair.
The actor, best known for playing Martha Lloyd in Death in Paradise and spin-off Beyond Paradise, will appear in the all-new thriller which co-stars Poirot actor Sir David Suchet and Vera's Kenny Doughty.
Bretton plays Zoe - a wife and step-mum in the drama - whose life takes a turn after welcoming a French au pair into her home.

"The Au Pair follows a woman who seems to have it all—a successful husband (Doughty), adorable stepchildren, a thriving business and a gorgeous home," reads the synopsis. "When her diabetic father George (Suchet) moves in next door and she begins to experience marital issues, however, she reluctantly agrees to hire an au pair."
Lupin actor Ludmilla Makowski makes her British television debut in the show as "beguiling" au pair Sandrine, whose presence "causes an unsettling shift in the household".
"As instincts and suspicions arise, hidden agendas are hinted at and long-concealed truths are unveiled."

The Au Pair will comprise of four episodes and will air on Channel 5 at a later date. ITV Studios has secured the worldwide distribution rights with CANAL+ Group holding the rights in France.
The show has been written by Michael Foot and is directed by Oonagh Kearney who both worked on Channel 4 drama Vardy V Rooney.
The Au Pair is a co-production between Pernel Media and MK1 Studios. Julie Ryan, Managing Director and Executive Producer for the latter said: "We’re excited to collaborate with Pernel Media and Channel 5 on The Au Pair.

The Au Pair will air on Channel 5.
