Mastering the K-pop look: The founder of Ajumma's Restaurant steps up his styling game
SINGAPORE – In this second episode of Big Boss Style, fashion stylist Jerome Awasthi accepts our challenge to elevate CEO of Ajumma's Restaurant, Dominic Tan's style. The 29-year-old entrepreneur is the founder of a casual chain of Korean restaurants serving Korean comfort food to the masses.
We first sat down and interviewed Tan last year, and the self-taught cook shared with Yahoo Lifestyle SEA his passion for food that goes beyond the glossy exterior of an Instagram feed.
The boyish entrepreneur shared with us his daily get-up, which consists of a casual look (T-shirts and mostly jeans). For this challenge, he intends to look professional but not overly dressed up.
Awasthi, who's styled personalities like Adrian Pang, Fiona Xie and Claire Jedrek, is eager to inject some flair into Tan's styling game and has proposed three fun and refreshing looks.

For his sartorial trick, Awasthi dressed Tan with a deconstructed look that caught all of us with surprise, with a street style-approved shoe of the moment: white, elevated sneakers.
"I guess I could say, baller," Tan said it best while flashing us his commercial smile.
"You just need a certain attitude or X-factor to be able to carry it off, and I guess you do have that," Awasthi explained why he chose the look that's reminiscent of a vintage Maison Margiela style.
Watch the video to take home key takeaways from Awasthi’s styling lessons: invest in good Japanese denim as the material tends to be softer and stretchier.
For casual weekend looks, invest in pairs of Bermudas which will carry you well into the night.
Chino pants are semi-formal pants that are very versatile, which can help elevate your style game.
