Billy Joel Announces 2024 North American Concerts, Including More Dates with Stevie Nicks and Sting
The Piano Man will wrap up his iconic Madison Square Garden residency and set out on several North American tour dates in 2024
The Piano Man is teaming up with two fellow rock legends on stage.
On Thursday, Billy Joel, 74, announced he’s playing a handful of massive stadium shows in 2024 — and he’ll be joined by special, co-headlining guests Stevie Nicks and Sting on select dates.
The music legend shared on Instagram and his official website that he’ll be playing four more shows this year, in addition to the final dates of his long-running residency at New York City’s Madison Square Garden and previously announced shows with the former Police frontman, 72, and Fleetwood Mac star, 75.
The dates added to his live itinerary include a Seattle stop on May 24, two summer performances in Chicago and Denver and a final date on Sept. 27 in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Grammy winner will play Seattle and Denver solo — his first time playing in the major cities in eight years and five years, respectively — and one of the two fellow rock stars will join him at the other newly announced dates. Nicks will take the stage in Chicago, while Sting will help wrap up the live run at the tour closer in St. Louis.
Last year, Joel announced he’d be playing a show with Sting in Tampa, Florida on Feb. 24 — which now marks his tour kick-off — and one in San Diego, California on Apr. 13. He also previously revealed that Nicks would be playing a show with him in Arlington, Texas, on Mar. 9, meaning the two music icons will alternate as co-headliners.

Ahead of the tour, the “Uptown Girl” singer will play two of his classic MSG concerts and a show in Tokyo, and then his residency and one U.K. date will continue to be interspersed in the live run.

After the legend shared that he’d be ending his MSG residency after 10 years, Joel opened up about the decision to PEOPLE and why he sees it as an accomplishment.
“After 10 years, we've done it," Joel said, smiling. "I mean, I didn't realize it would last 10 years."
He continued, "And I don't know how many shows it is, I'm sure somebody's keeping track of it somewhere, but I'm amazed that we went this far, and I'm honored.”
Tickets for the newly announced dates of Joel’s 2024 North American tour begin with a presale exclusive to Citi cardholders, lasting from Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. local time to Jan. 11 at 10 p.m. local time. General tickets will become available for purchase on Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. local time.
