Filipino esports powerhouse Blacklist International announced a landmark partnership with global esports brand G2 Esports on Wednesday (15 February).

The partnership will launch with the establishment of G2 Blacklist, a co-branded League of Legends: Wild Rift team based in the Philippines.

G2 Blacklist's roster is comprised of Baron laner Karl Ken "Karlll" Bautista, jungler Jairus Allain "Jace" Elgera, midlaner Jhon Mike "Xyliath" Tungol, Dragon laner Richard "Demon" Lara, support and captain Beaver-ed "Orthros" Villanueva, as well as substitute player Allen Dean "Don" Viola.

They will also be assisted by head coach Hans "WUrahhhh" Solano and Keiya "XDXP" Laureta.

The G2 Blacklist roster will officially debut in the Phase 2 Qualifiers of the Wild Rift League Asia on 17 February (Friday).

Blacklist International is one of the premier esports organisations in the Philippines, operating under esports and gaming agency Tier One Entertainment.

In addition to the new G2 Blacklist team, the organisation is operating teams competing in Mobile Legends, Dota 2, Call of Duty: Mobile, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and Garena Free Fire.

Meanwhile, Berlin-based G2 Esports is one of the most recognized esports organisations in the world. G2 is fielding teams in League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and VALORANT, among others.

Blacklist International said in a press release that its partnership with G2 Esports is part of its goal "to establish itself as the leading destination for the world's top esports athletes".

“G2 Blacklist is a “1 + 2 = 4” type of partnership. Two of the most popular and competitive teams in their respective regions working together is something truly special. I think this is a game-changer not just for Wild Rift esports, but for the industry as a whole. Alongside G2, we’re looking forward to bringing the Blacklist International brand to new audiences around the world,” said Tryke Gutierrez, CEO of Tier One Entertainment.

"We’re combining the best of the East and the West to take a new Esports competition by storm. As two major winning organisations, the G2 and Blacklist partnership is one that was created with big ambitions. Blacklist is a winning team, full of successful people that have helped them dominate the mobile esports market. Asia is where Wild Rift is set to succeed and we wanted to be part of it and bring a G2 team to our fans in the region," added Alban Dechelotte, CEO of G2 Esports.

Tier One Entertainment and G2 will also be launching a brand new series from Tier One Studios called 'The Bootcamp', which will document the journey of the G2 Blacklist Wild Rift team. The collaboration will also be celebrated by world-renowned Philippine street artist Juanito “Quiccs” Maiquez through a bespoke and exclusive art piece.
