UST Growling Tigers

The University of Santo Tomas, together with UP, FEU and NU, was one of the founding member schools of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines in 1938.

Bagging 18 championships, the Tigers now share the record of having the second most number of UAAP basketball championships with the UE Red Warriors. The team recently tied with the Red Warriors when it beat the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the Finals of 2006.

The Tigers also holds an unbeaten four consecutive UAAP men's basketball titles from 1993 to 1996. In 1993, it was declared Champion after it swept the season with a 14-0 streak.

The gold and white team also played the longest finals matchups against UE from 1964 to 1971. The two met eight consecutive times in a championship match with the Red Warriors, with the Tigers winning seven encounters.

The Tigers count Danny Florencio, Bogs Adornado and Pido Jarencio among its distinguished alumni. Jarencio serves as the head coach of the España squad since 2006.
