Have you ever had the urge to photograph your food? Do you have “friends” who post their meals or e-mail you photos of their latest lip-smacking subject? It must come from some primal “YUM!” deeply seated within the Id of the photographer: “Look at what I’m gonna eat!”

A lot of restaurants aren’t happy with the fad. Earlier this year ABC News carried a story about chefs banning phood-photography (to coin a phrase). Let’s face it: some photographs can make a fine meal look rather unsavory. Sometimes it might be best to just use the fork and leave the smartphone alone.
