Manchester United star Rojo in blackmail scandal

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo, 25, enjoyed a vacation in Portugal recently and posted a photo at the dinner table with his family and friends.

Rojo went away during his club’s week off and shared a private jet with teammate Angel di Maria as their families headed for a short break after United’s 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday.

This comes three days after an alleged affair with a fitness instructor was exposed, with the woman claiming she was blackmailed.

The fitness instructor and her friends were drinking cocktails in bar in Manchester when they were approached by a bouncer and invited to join Man United’s private Christmas party upstairs.

The venue was packed with pretty young girls who were hand-picked by minders and told to leave their mobile phones in a bucket to prevent them from taking any embarrassing pictures.

Sarah Watson, 34, the woman at the centre of the blackmail claims said Rojo offered her money to spend the night with him after the party, which she declined.

However, she admitted having a one-night stand because she was attracted to the player.

Rojo is married to Argentinean model Eugenia Lusardo (pictured above), with whom he has a daughter, although Watson claimed not to know that he had a family.

She then accepted a £30,000 ($60,563) offer from a newspaper to sell her story, although she never received the money.

Watson claims Rojo’s representatives offered her money to drop the story.

Watson said, “Rojo and his people contrived to make me look like a greedy cow, when it was them who offered me £100,000 ($201,880) as hush money.”

Last month a ruling in the High Court overturned the gag order and ordered Rojo to pay Sarah’s estimated £25,000 in legal costs.

The case is similar to Ryan Giggs’s injunction order in 2011, after he tried to block the disclosure of his affair with Welsh model Imogen Thomas.

Drogba goes to town

Chelsea star Didier Drogba was spotted enjoying the London sunshine on Tuesday afternoon.

The 37-year-old was enjoying the city less than 24 hours after Manchester City’s defeat at Crystal Palace saw his team Chelsea taking a giant leap to towards the Premier League title.

The Blues striker was spotted on his mobile phone whilst taking a stroll through the capital and he looked relaxed in a pair of dark shades, black baseball cap and Nike trainers.

Drogba is a fan favourite in the Chelsea team, and is often stopped on the streets by passersby for a quick snap.

The former Ivory Coast international and his Chelsea team-mates soared to a 2-1 win over Stoke on Saturday.

He has scored six goals in 34 appearances this term since returning to Stamford Bridge from Turkish side Galatasaray in the summer.
