A video showing a man shouting and cussing at a library user in Northpoint has sparked a lot of buzz online and on social media channels.

The man, who appears to be in his 40s, was seen in a video churning out a slew of curses at a library user. He claimed that he was from the commando unit and also, from what he calls the "Special Forces Counter Terrorist".

However, the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has identified the man in the video — which has garnered at least 788 shares on Facebook-- and clarified in a Facebook post that he is "not a member of the SAF nor has he served in the Commandos”. SAF added that “he currently has no NS liability”.

Meanwhile, Facebook user Syaikhul ‘Azim, who lives in Yishun, has identified the man as someone who lives in his block. In a comment he posted in Malay, Syaikhul said that the man is known to be "crazy".

The video appeared to have been recorded by another library user who was sitting at the same table as the two men.

A library staff was seen trying to dissolve the brawl, asking the agitated man to stop raising his voice and leave the premises, but it was to no avail.

The man continued with his antics and it is not shown in the video how the incident ended.

The video attracted negative reactions by users, one of whom said, "I feel offended that someone like him is impersonating the organisation I serve in such a derogatory manner.”
