‘Blue Bloods’ And ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ Producer Charged With Sexual Assault
Laurence Andries, a TV writer and producer who has worked on shows including Blue Bloods, How to Get Away with Murder and The Pacific, has been charged with six felony counts of sexual assault in Los Angeles.
The accuser, a John Doe, claims Andries drugged and assaulted him in June 2022 after they met for drinks. The writer-producer was arrested in August 2023 after charges were filed by the Los Angeles District Attorney. He remains free on a $150,000 bond and has not yet had a preliminary hearing, according to the Los Angeles Times.

News of the charges came to light after the John Doe, a military veteran, appeared this week in an ABC-7 interview, calling Andries his mentor in the industry.
“I believe that he drugged one of my drinks, took me to his place and then … I can’t say the word. I’m sorry, I can’t say it,” the John Doe told ABC-7.
The charges involve sodomy, oral copulation and sexual penetration by anesthesia or controlled substance of an unconscious or asleep person, according to court documents.
Andries, 66, was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2022 as part of the team behind HBO’s Six Feet Under, on which he was credited with writing three episodes. His other multi-episode writing credits include Boomtown, The Pacific, Being Mary Jane and Superstition among others. He also was a co-executive producer on series such as Boomtown, Alias, Being Mary Jane, Godfather of Harlem, How to Get Away With Murder and most recently Blue Bloods.
He started his career writing the 1994 short film Kangaroo Court, directed by Sean Astin and starring Gregory Hines and Michael O’Keefe. It was nominated for the Best Live-Action Short Oscar in 1995.
