Board chairman at theatre 'delighted' at new role
The man chosen to chair a theatre's board of trustees said he was "delighted" to be appointed.
David Manning will take up the role at the Core at Corby Cube in the Northamptonshire town.
He has previously worked at the BBC, Currys, Associated British Foods and Travis Perkins, as well as organising community events in the county.
Mr Manning said he wanted to "further develop The Core as a centre of excellence for performing arts in North Northants".
He takes over from Gary Tait, who stepped down from the role last year following 10 years as a board member and six as chair.
The Core hosts touring shows as well as local theatre groups and community events.
He said: "Having benefitted greatly from a 30-year involvement in local theatre, I'm delighted to be appointed chair."
Mr Manning said the board of trustees and the theatre's management would work to "present outstanding live music, comedy and theatre productions that audiences love".
He added they wanted to "continue to evolve our arts and engagement opportunities for young people and our wider communities in Corby and the local area".
The Core theatre opened in 2010 as part of the Corby Cube Civic building, which also houses the town's library and council offices.
