Body of man found in Xiao Guilin at Bukit Batok

UPDATE with statement from police to say that the man was 91 years old.

A body of a man was retrieved from the “Xiao Guilin” lake at Bukit Batok Town Park on Friday (27 October).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it responded to a call for help at 2.05pm along Bukit Batok East Avenue 5, where a person was believed to have entered the waters of the quarry in the area.

SCDF officers arrived at the scene and searched the area together with divers from the Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (Dart). They found and retrieved a body of a man from the waters at 4.20pm. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by SCDF paramedics.

Police said they were alerted to a case of unnatural death on 27 October 2017 at 1.48pm at Little Guilin quarry.

The body of a 91-year-old man was retrieved by SCDF Dart personnel and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. Police investigations are ongoing.
