Brazil says Venezuelan vote lacked 'legitimacy and credibility'

SAO PAULO (Reuters) - Brazil's Foreign Ministry condemned Venezuela's presidential election for lacking "legitimacy and credibility," accusing its neighbor of deepening its crisis with a vote on Sunday that "reinforced the authoritarian character of its regime."

Brazil will continue to work through the Organization of American States (OAS) to reestablish democratic institutions in Venezuela, Brasilia said in a public statement on Monday.
