On her Instagram story, Madsen also re-shared viral pride posts saying "News flash: I'm queer" and "Don't interact with me in June unless this is the vibe you're bringing," the latter of which featured an illustration of a bucking unicorn-slash-pegasus with multicolored wings.

Many of Madsen's Bridgerton costars voiced their support in the comments, including Nicola Coughlan and Jonathan Bailey, who left an abundance of heart emojis under the post. Joanna Bobin wrote, "Go baby girl! Love you," while Hannah Dodd commented, "Love youuuuuu."

On Netflix’s hit historical romance series, Madsen plays Cressida Cowper, a harsh debutante who served as a romantic rival for Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Penelope Featherington (Coughlan). In season 3, Cressida forms an unexpected alliance with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), which has led some fans of the show to ship the two women as a romantic couple.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Jess Brownell explained how diversions from the Bridgerton book series are making this season more exciting.

"While the book foregrounds the Lady Whistledown hunt and has Colin finding out about Pen's secret much earlier into the story, we felt like because we've been tracking the hunt for Lady Whistledown now for two seasons, that story needed a break for a little bit," she said. "Especially as we had Penelope on the hunt for a husband, which is not as specific in the books. It felt important to give that a moment to shine without making her secret identity overshadow the storyline. But there is more to come with that secret in the back half."

The first four episodes of Bridgerton’s third season premiered in May, while the final four episodes of the season will hit Netflix on June 13.
