BEIJING (Reuters) - Britain's Foreign Office continues to "urgently seek further information" about an employee of its Hong Kong consulate who was detained in China, it said on Thursday.

It said officials not been able to speak to the consulate worker, Simon Cheng, since his detention in the Chinese border city of Shenzhen. Cheng had been expected to return to work on August 9 after visiting the city neighbouring Hong Kong.
