Britain's Got Talent spoilers ahead.

This year's series of Britain's Got Talent has confirmed its first two finalists.

Airing live on ITV this evening (May 27), the opening semi-final welcomed back a spectacular dog act named The Trickstars; singer Taryn Charles; rollerskating aerialists Duo Stardust; the extremely strange magic bag performer Bikoon; young dancer Trey Braine; Taekwondo masters Ssaulabi Performance Troupe; air-guitarist Sven Smith, and opera sensation Innocent Masuku.

Innocent received the most public votes to send him straight through to this weekend's grand final. Ssaulabi Performance Troupe were then chosen by the judges over The Trickstars for the second available spot.

Innocent, who got married between the BGT auditions in January and the semis, told presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly in the aftermath: "This is my year, everything is just happening and I'm so happy and I'm glad that this is the year, and I'm ready!

"I am ready for Sunday, I hope you are ready as well!"

Now we wait to see which eight acts fill the remaining places for the final.

In other news, 2011 winner Jai McDowall has told The Sun about things going "south" for him just a year after his BGT triumph.

"I had about eight months and then Sony didn't renew my one-album deal and it's still quite a difficult thing to deal with," he said.

"There was definitely a period where it took a dramatic drop. Finances, work, all of that stuff took a very big dive to a point where I did actually think about bankruptcy. I didn't do it because, thankfully, I've got a brilliant support network. But I did get to a point where I was like: 'Is this it, is this over?'"

The Britain's Got Talent semi-finals continue tomorrow (May 28) on ITV1 and ITVX.
