Britain's Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas told Yahoo she doesn't think she's going back to her job as a gym receptionist, saying: "I'm very shocked."

Recently, the singer had been working as a gym receptionist when she entered the ITV talent competition. Having won Britain's Got Talent, her life has totally changed overnight. Christmas had every intention of going to work on Monday morning but instead she found herself on the This Morning sofa talking about her big win with Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.

Thanks to BGT, the songstress now has banked the £250,000 prize money and she will perform at the Royal Variety Performance. Although she has no clue what she would like to spend the money on, her dreams of becoming a singer full-time are closer than ever before.

This week she told Yahoo: "Without me knowing about a week and a half ago, I had my last shift...

"I don't think I'll be going back now which I'm very shocked about. I had the intention of going to work on Monday. My manager messaged me just before I was about to go onto This Morning and she asked me, 'Do you want me to put all your shifts for the rest of the month on the cover rota?' And I said, 'Yes please.'"

It's been incredibly busy for the BGT winner as she admitted to losing a lot of sleep over the past week or so while performing in the live semi-finals and final. "I feel like I haven't slept in about a week and a half," she said.

Fate has now put her on a new path as winning BGT has changed the direction she was going with her career. In January, the hitmaker had even begun training to become a personal trainer in a bid to find "stability".

She had passed her practical but she had yet to have time to finish off her coursework. She said: "I was going to look at becoming a personal trainer. I'm still trying to finish my coursework for my level three PT course!"

So what does the future hold for Christmas now with her new-found fame? The TV star has set her heart on being the leading lady in the West End but she said she would love to take every opportunity that comes her way following her success on the talent show.

She told Yahoo: "Everything is 100mph. Now that the world's my oyster, so if any opportunity comes my way, I just wanna smash down its doors and just take it."

She added: "As long as I'm on a stage sharing a story - whether it be in the West End which is where my heart lies, whether it be at a concert - I just want to be on a stage with a microphone feeling and singing."
