British royal 'Fab Four' voice mental health advert

The advert has been launched to "empower people to manage and improve their mental health", according to Britain's Public Health England that made it in partnership with the National Health Service (NHS).

Written by Richard Curtis ("Four Weddings and a Funeral" and "Love Actually") and directed by British photographer Rankin, the film features celebrities including U.S. actors Gillian Anderson and Glenn Close. It also includes British stars such as TV presenter and former international cricketer Freddie Flintoff, TV presenter Davina McCall, rapper Professor Green and author and "The Great British Bake Off" 2015 winner Nadiya Hussain.

According to a survey by Public Health England, "more than eight in 10 (83%) people have experienced early signs of poor mental health including feeling anxious, stressed, having low mood or trouble sleeping in the last 12 months."

The advert is being broadcast on British TV channels on Monday (October 7) and will be used as a resource by doctors to advise their patients.
