Brittany Cartwright Gets Real About 'Scary' Emotions She's Felt During Rough Patches in Marriage to Jax Taylor

"You get into this, like, friendship, like, roommate-type situation, and then you just feel like you are kind of stuck," shares the 'Vanderpump Rules' alum, who announced her separation on Feb. 29

Brittany Cartwright can relate to how Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval's relationship floundered toward the end of their relationship.

On Tuesday's Vanderpump Rules after show, The Valley star and VPR alum revealed that she could see hints of her own marriage to Jax Taylor in the struggles Madix, 38, and Sandoval, 41, had leading up to his months-long affair with costar Rachel "Raquel" Leviss.

"I can kind of get how you get into this, like, friendship, like, roommate-type situation and then you just feel like you are kind of stuck a little bit — not that I am — but like I feel that way sometimes if me and Jax are going through our hard times," she explained.

She went on to confess that it could be "very hard" to separate negative thoughts during those rough patches and had sometimes even wondered, "Am I going to lose all this stuff that I've built? Am I, you know, going to be OK?"

She admitted, "It can be very scary [and] very hard so I understand, honestly."

Cartwright's candor came two weeks after she announced her separation from Taylor, 44, on Feb. 29.

"Many of you guys have been asking me about Jax and I and our relationship," she said on an episode of the couple's When Reality Hits podcast. "I just think it’s important to be real and honest with you guys because our life is definitely — we’ve shared so much of our life with you guys. So, I feel like ... I don’t want to seem like I’m lying or anything like that so I think it’s important for me to say this."

"I know on my last podcast, I alluded to many marriages go through rocky times," the television personality continued. "Yes, marriages in general are very hard and I've had a particularly rough year this past year. Jax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health."
