Brooks Nader Goes Blonde and Wears Ultimate Naked Dress in Breakover Moment at“ SI Swimsuit” Party

The model debuted the dramatic hair transformation after announcing her divorce from Billy Haire earlier this month

Brooks Nader just debuted the ultimate breakover look.

On Thursday, May 16, the 27-year-old model arrived at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2024 launch party in New York City in a jaw-dropping sheer dress — and showed off a dramatic blonde hair transformation. Nader stunned in a black netted dress that was completely see-through, opting for nothing but a nude thong underneath. She accessorized with black platform pumps.

As if her nearly naked dress wasn’t shocking enough, Nader also revealed her newly blonde hair. Her long, beachy locks — previously a deep brunette — were styled into loose waves.

The transformation comes two weeks after PEOPLE confirmed that the model was divorcing her husband of 4 years, Billy Haire.

Nader was discovered as part of the brand’s Swim Search program in 2019. She starred as one of four cover models in 2023’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, which marked her fifth appearance in the magazine. On the cover, she wore a red Matthew Bruch one-piece swimsuit and oversize geometric bracelets.

The model appears on one of three collectible Legends covers for the 2024 Sports Illustrated 60th Anniversary Issue, along with other past SI models like Christie Brinkley, Molly Sims, Martha Stewart, Paulina Porizkova, Tyra Banks and Winnie Harlow.

"Over the past 60 years we have shattered stereotypes, embraced diversity, and championed inclusivity,” said MJ Day, editor in chief of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, in a press release. “With each passing year, we have challenged ourselves to push boundaries and redefine what it means to be Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. While this year’s issue is a tribute to the recent past, it’s also a reminder of the work we must continue to do. We must remind women to challenge the status quo, to celebrate strength and confidence, and to inspire those around us to embrace their uniqueness and pursue their passions fearlessly.”

On Friday, May 3, PEOPLE confirmed that Nader and her husband, Billy Haire, were parting ways.

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, Nader’s rep said the couple is “divorcing after living apart for months.”

The rep added, “The split is amicable.”

"She’s a busy person and career wise she’s on top of the world," an insider close to the couple tells PEOPLE. "All relationships are hard and some can be salvaged, some can’t. They’re both truly amazing people. They have just decided to go their separate ways."

Nader and Haire, were married in December 2019 in New Orleans, Louisiana in front of 330 guests. At the time, Nader was 22 and Haire, an advertiser, was 33.
