CAA Century City Headquarters Will Reopen Friday After Evacuation Due to Security Threat
UPDATED: CAA’s Century City offices will reopen Friday after being evacuated Thursday afternoon. Employees were asked to leave the CAA headquarters due to a security threat, Variety has confirmed. The nature of the threat is not yet known, but all employees were instructed to leave the headquarters located at 2000 Avenue of the Stars in Los Angeles.
Creative Artists Agency issued a note to employees with instructions to go home, reading, “CAA Global Safety & Security has confirmed that the Los Angeles CAA offices have received a security threat.” The note goes on, “Your safety is our top priority. While the threat is being investigated for its credibility, out of an abundance of caution, we are closing the Los Angeles offices. Please proceed home and encourage those who are able to utilize the stairs to do so as there may be congestions with the elevators.”

This is not the first time the building has been evacuated. In 2015, a suspicious package was left at a bank there, prompting investigation by the LAPD; they discovered “an unknown liquid” in the package. In 2020, before the Covid-19 pandemic shut down offices worldwide, a gas leak was the impetus for another evacuation.
More recently, competing heavyweight agency UTA experienced an evacuation of its Beverly Hills headquarters due to a perceived bomb threat in July of 2022. Yet another suspicious package led to the evacuation of WME’s Los Angeles office in 2018.
CAA is helmed by co-chairmen Bryan Lourd, Kevin Huvane and Richard Lovett. Lourd is also CEO.
