Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, the mobile version of the smash-hit battle royale for the classic FPS series Call of Duty, will be launching worldwide for iOS and Android devices on 21 March, developer Activision announced on Thursday (29 February).

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is designed for Warzone fans looking for Battle Royale action on the go, as the game's mobile version will share progression with its PC and console versions. Things like player and weapon levels, Battle Pass progression, and friends lists will be fully synced between Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.

Most content acquired in Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone can also be seamlessly transferred to Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.

Activision said in a blog post that they aim to "[unite] players from across the Call of Duty franchise together in a new way for the first time" with Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile's shared progression feature.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will feature classic Battle Royale combat in a variety of battlefields. Two large-scale maps will be available at launch: Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

The fan-favourite Verdansk will be a familiar stomping ground for Warzone veterans, hosting up to 120 players across a multitude of areas that accommodate both run-and-gun and stealthy playstyles.

Of course, Verdansk wouldn't be complete without the Gulag, giving eliminated players the chance to battle others for the right to redeploy back into the match.

Meanwhile, Rebirth Island is a smaller map that can host up to 48 players looking for non-stop action. This map makes use of Resurgence rules, which lets players respawn as long as one of their teammates is still alive on the map to get them back into the fighting.

But for those looking for more shooter action than just the main Battle Royale mode, other multiplayer maps like Shipment, Shoot House, and Scrap Yard will also be available to host classic Call of Duty game modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Search & Destroy.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will also offer a variety of access control and accessibility options to players, letting them customise the gameplay experience to suit their preferences. Activision boasted that almost every element in the game's control interface can be customised, extensive HUD adjustments, detailed controller settings, and graphical options.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will also include controller support for players looking to amp up their mobile gaming experience.

Players can pre-register for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile now through this link, with a variety of rewards based on pre-registration milestones will also be given away to all players upon the game's launch.

Activision also revealed that over 50 million players have already pre-registered for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, a significant uptick from the 45 million pre-registration count they previously revealed in Call of Duty Next.

As a result, players will be receiving the Ghost “Condemned” Operator Skin, the M4 “Archfiend” and X12 “Prince of Hell” Weapon Blueprints, the “Foe's Flame” Vinyl, and the “Dark Familiar” Emblem when the game finally launches.
